I’ve sewed very very slowly lately, but I’ve manage to make something new from time to time.
How can you manage to sew with a little baby? I choose very easy projects and in jersey, like this black woollen top with golden polka dot embellishments, the last garment I sewed!
And I sew in my very few spare time moments over the week or weekend, when Matilde is out for a stroll with dad or grannies ( my house is a creative mess on the other hand, but I have to admit that I’ve never been good in keeping it tidy!).
I tried to sew while wearing her with a baby wrap or carrier, but she loves when I walk while she’s close to me in the carrier/wrap. So we go out for a long walk usually!
Sewing jersey garments with serger and coverstitch machine is very easy and quick. I made this top in a couple of hours. It’s a very basic garment, that I love and I’ve worn a lot in these days.
The fabric is a remnant from a textile firm in Como that closed down last year unfortunately. It’s a beautiful woollen light jersey embroidered with golden polka dots (I’ve got the same fabric in burgundy and pink too).
I wanted to make a long sleeves top for winter, but I hadn’t got enough fabric to sew it (it was a very little scrap), so I made a top for spring. I used an old pattern I drafted on my measurements that I used three years ago to make a Birthday gift for a friend of mine.
I took these pictures in an extraordinary warm day of February! Even if it’s winter, I felt like it was spring because I was fine in a sleeveless top.

nice
I would love the pattern for this! Do you have one or a link to the one you used? It is so beautiful and just the style I am looking for!
